Amazon's Brand New Echo Pop Is $18 Right Now in a Massive Price Cut

Amazon Prime Day is known for delivering tremendous discounts, and the 2023 edition of the members-only two-day shopping event kicks off on July 11, 2023. Since you need to be a Prime member to score the savings, you can score a 30-day free trial here if you aren’t one.

You don’t need to wait until midnight on the 11th to get a discount, though. TheStreet Deals has already tracked a number of sales, from savings on a robot vacuum to a Breville espresso machine. Now, we’re focusing on smart speakers—specifically, the entry point to an Alexa smart speaker.

Amazon’s brand-new Echo Pop dropped in late May and is down to the lowest price ever in what can only be described as a massive price cut. In either Lavender Bloom, Midnight Teal, Glacier White, or Charcoal, the smart speaker is just $18.

The Echo Pop is the most affordable smart speaker at just $40 when not discounted. But ahead of Prime Day 2023, Amazon’s chopped the price by 55%, and with that, this is the easiest and cheapest way to add Alexa to a space.

Furthermore, it’s one of the simplest ways to add music to a room, like a bedroom or a bathroom. With the latter, you can finally get backing vocals for your shower concert without breaking the bank. If it’s in the bedroom, you can ask Alexa for sleep sounds to let you drift off for a good night's rest.

The Echo Pop is a half circle with a front-grille design that pushes rich audio out. While it’s not as room-filling as a 5th Gen Echo Dot ($23, was $50) or full-sized 4th Gen Echo ($55, was $100), it does produce solid sound. It’s a 1.95-inch front-firing speaker with an Amazon-made algorithm for the best sound.

The Echo Pop utilizes far-field microphones to pick up your voice and quickly respond to commands or requests. The AZ2 Neural Edge also powers it, making it a bit quicker for more common, localized asks.

Since it’s Alexa, you can ask for the weather, to control smart home devices like a light or wall plug, and even to tell a joke. It can also control playback with Prime Music, but you can also link Apple Music, Spotify, and many other services for quick, hands-free control. The options are really endless, with a ton of Alexa Skills available.

While this doesn’t feature a touch sensor, there are physical buttons for volume control and muting microphones. It even features some Wi-Fi extender tech to extend the coverage of an Eero mesh router system.

For just $18, you’re getting a feature-filled smart speaker that comes in four colors, two of which we’d describe as dynamite: Lavender Bloom or Midnight Teal. It’s a rare discount on such a new device from Amazon (AMZN) -), so we’d take advantage of it sooner before shipping times stretch.
