One of the advantages of choosing Amazon Prime Video as your main streaming platform is that it doesn't just limit you to its own subscription. Unlike Netflix, for instance, it's easy to add other subscriptions and channels to your account to expand your access.
This option just became a bunch more powerful in the US, with the arrival of Apple TV+ as a new subscription option for $9.99 each month. Adding the subscription won't require you to download any new apps or get any new hardware - whatever you use to watch Prime Video, you'll just be able to search for Apple TV+ shows and movies and enjoy them.
This is great news for a variety of reasons, but it has to be said that Apple TV+ is a particularly enticing option for anyone who likes good science fiction. We're not saying it's the best streaming service overall, but if you love sci-fi then it absolutely has to be in the conversation.
There's loads more besides that, too, with hit British spy show Slow Horses just having finished its fourth season and already been renewed for a sixth (with the fifth already in the can). The Morning Show features Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston at their best, for those looking for a modern workplace drama.
So, if you're a Prime Video user and you think you could expand your horizons a little with Apple's library, it's now easier than ever. The subscription should be available now, after launching on 15 October, so add it to your account whenever you like to start sampling Apple's high-end wares.
It'll be interesting to see whether this can help Apple to get more eyes on its shows, too - Prime Video's streaming numbers completely dwarf Apple's, after all. With a heap of historic rumbles over whether Apple will continue to underwrite a platform that gets terrific reviews but a smaller pool of actual users than its competition, perhaps arriving on Amazon's service might be a tactic to expand. It's certainly good news for anyone who likes having their subscriptions accessible in one place, if that one place is Prime Video.
