Amazon has launched its second Prime Day sale of the year today but the deals look a little different from previous big sale events from the online retail giant. As the cost of living crisis grips much of the UK Amazon's Prime Day deals reflect the national mood with discounts on 12 packs of Heinz baked beans, multi packs of soup mix and energy-saving gadgets taking centre stage in the deals pages.
Amazon expects air fryers, a cheaper alternative to conventional ovens as rising energy prices hit the UK, to be some of the top sellers during Amazon Prime Day and with the cheapest deal on a Salter air fryer now at £44, down from £53, the deals match the public mood.
Other reductions in the sales event include discounts of nearly a third off heated electric blankets as an alternative to using heating overnight, while energy-saving kettles are also discounted in the opening day of sale.
