The Summer I Turned Pretty fans, consider this your gentle warning to touch grass and leave production of the show’s film adaptation alone.
Amazon has issued a reminder asking viewers to respect the cast and crew’s privacy as filming gets underway on the show’s upcoming movie finale. The request comes after fans began turning up to sets across North Carolina and sharing exact filming locations online, following the start of production last month.

In recent days, unofficial snaps of stars Lola Tung and Christopher Briney have been making the rounds online, fuelling a fresh wave of speculation about what’s in store for Belly and Conrad. Naturally, the internet is already deep in theory mode, trying to piece together potential plot points for the final chapter from creator Jenny Han.
But while the hype is real, Amazon’s message is clear: maybe don’t turn the set into your own personal sleuthing mission.
“We love the excitement, but sharing locations and visiting set disrupts filming and creates real safety concerns for our cast and crew,” Amazon Prime Video’s official The Summer I Turned Pretty X account wrote Tuesday.
“We’re working hard to create a protected bubble to make the best movie possible. Please help us protect the magic of Cousins until it’s ready to be shared.”
The message — not the first time Amazon has had to rein in The Summer I Turned Pretty fans — came with a short video showing three people writing “PRIVACY PLEASE” in the sand on a beach.
Shortly after the final season dropped, Amazon made the exciting announcement that Belly’s story will continue with a forthcoming flick.
At the time, Han teased that “there is another big milestone left in Belly’s journey, and I thought only a movie could give it its proper due”, adding that she’s “so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision for this story and for making it possible to share this final chapter with the fans”.
Adapted from Han’s bestselling book trilogy, The Summer I Turned Pretty dives into the messy, heartfelt drama of one girl caught between two brothers.
Beyond the love triangle, the series explores family dynamics, the power of female friendships, and the bittersweet process of growing up. At its core, it’s a coming-of-age story about first love, first heartbreak, and the kind of summer that changes everything.
