Amazon issues urgent recall of product popular in Ireland

A product safety warning has been issued on a popular plug sold by Amazon which presents a risk of causing an electric shock or a fire.

The product recall has been issued on Amazon's USB C Fast Charger Plug for iPhone SE, 11, all 12 versions and all 13 versions, of which approximately 3,160 affected products were sold in the Republic of Ireland.

The product recall, for the USB C Fast Charger plug was issued on Friday, February 10.

"The affected products present a risk of electric shock and fire. The plug does not meet the dimensional requirements of the relevant standard," the strict warning to customers said.

The brand of the affected item is: The brand is AXIULOO.

While the unique Amazon Standard Identification Numbers (ASINs) are: B08HQBL2KK, B0BS9Q542K, B08HQH4Y39, B0BPCGGPVZ, B0BRKHMNQV, B08NTJ7XHP.

Customers who may have purchased the item have been asked to "immediately discontinue" its use.

"You may wish to contact Amazon to see if there are any remedies available to you. This can be done via your user account on the Amazon platform," the added.
