Amazon driver delivered to Minnesota home but had to intervene when he saw what was going on inside

An Amazon delivery driver in Minnesota was left with no choice but to call 911 after hearing the screams of a woman from inside the home. The man’s actions likely saved the woman who was allegedly being attacked by her husband at the time.

Officers were called out to the home in Wyoming, Minnesota, on May 11th after a concerned Amazon delivery driver dialled 911. He told officers that he arrived at the house around 1 p.m. to drop off a package and heard “yelling” inside.

When he went inside to investigate he found a woman lying on the ground, covered in blood. He also saw a man standing and holding a hammer. The Amazon driver told the man to drop the hammer before calling 911.

When police arrived on the scene they found the woman lying on the living room floor in a pool of blood as per PEOPLE. The woman had large indentations on her head that were “consistent with being struck by a hammer several times.” Despite the severity of her injuries they were not fatal. The woman later told officers how she kicked the man in the groin to get him off of her.

The Amazon driver prevented an attempted murder

The suspect was identified as 73-year-old James Alan Johnson and he was married to the woman he had allegedly attacked. He was immediately taken into custody by police and Johnson even reportedly told police that he had been planning to kill his wife for several days before the incident.

Johnson apparently explained that his reason for attempting to murder his wife was that he was facing serious financial strain and didn’t want her to have to live off of reduced social security benefits. The 73-year-old has already been charged with first-degree premeditated attempted murder as well as second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and is currently being held in Chisago County Jail.

To be honest, the timing of the Amazon driver could not have been more perfect. The odds of him being present at the scene during the exact time frame the alleged attempted murder took place were extremely thin and yet, his presence likely saved that woman’s life.

The bravery of the driver must be commended too, not many would enter a home with such little regard for their own safety just to check on somebody else. To clarify, we’re commending the driver, not the company he works for, Amazon are still evil. Anyways, thanks to his bravery and quick-thinking the woman was saved from a possible terrible death and the alleged suspect was promptly apprehended.
