'Amazingly good': Nicola Sturgeon heaps praise on Glasgow's new 'bookshop bar'

NICOLA Sturgeon has heaped praise on Glasgow’s new bookshop-themed bar after it opened its doors in the city.

The Last Bookstore opened in the city centre, taking over the former home of Fat Lobster with bosses promising a “visual feast” for book lovers with thousands of books lining the walls as well as a literary archway made of 1300 books.

=Sturgeon, a keen reader, visited the bar with former SNP MP Anne McLaughlin and described the bar as “amazingly good”.

Writing on Instagram, she said: “Books, cocktails and chat with a pal @annemclaughlinsnp – what more could anyone want on a Saturday afternoon.

“Glasgow’s newest bar @thelastbookstorebar is amazingly good.”

The drinks menu at the bar serves as a tribute to famous authors, including cocktails inspired by the likes of Jack Kerouac, Dorothy Parker and Ernest Hemingway while there’s also a number of beers to choose from.
