Amanda Serrano has defended Jake Paul after the American boxer and promoter cancelled the fight card which Serrano was scheduled to compete on at the last minute.
Serrano, who famously lost a razor thin split decision to Katie Taylor in an historic bout back in April, was due to fight Brenda Karen Carabajal on the undercard of an event headlined by Jake Paul vs Hasim Rahman Jr. However, disagreements between Paul and Rahman Jr led to the fight and the entire event being cancelled at the eleventh hour.
The controversial American has come in for serious criticism in the wake of his teams decision to cancel the event, with many feeling that the former Disney star should have either gotten himself a new opponent, or just promoted Serrano to the main event. Yesterday however, 'The Real Deal' took to Twitter to defend her boss, while also tease fans that a new fight would be announced soon.

Serrano's tweet begins, "For all the concerned Nay Sayers I’m with the right Team!
"Fight cards & bouts get these things happening all the time. My managers @jakepaul & Nakisa @MostVpromotions NEVER stop working.
"For my loyal fans I’ll be posting my new fight date soon. I love my team."
Paul has been Serrano's promoter for her last few fights and played a major role in making Taylor v Serrano a reality. However in bad news for Irish fans, doubt has been cast over whether a rematch can take place, with the YouTube sensation last week declaring that they will only face off again if Taylor drops two weight classes to fight Serrano at 126 lbs.
Despite being offered a whopping $2 million dollars by Paul to do so, Taylor is unlikely to drop down to face Serrano at the Puerto Ricans' natural weight. The pair battled it out in what has been widely described as the greatest women's fight of all-time earlier this year at Madison Square Garden and many had hoped that a rematch would take place this autumn at Croke Park.
However, Taylor's promoter Eddie Hearn recently told Betfred’s Lightweight Boxing Show that Serrano and Taylor won't meet again before the year is out, with Serrano eager to pursue other endeavours as 2022 draws to a close. The English promoter also mentioned that despite Holly Holm and Cris Cyborg being potential opponents for 'The Bray Bomber,' the only matchup that is likely to take place in Croke Park is Taylor v Serrano II.
“I think that has to be for the Serrano rematch. You’ve got Cyborg, you’ve got Holly Holm - these are huge fights, but I feel like they'll happen later on in the year.
"We were pushing for September for Croke Park with Serrano - unfortunately, she didn't want that fight. So I think Croke Park would have to sit on ice for spring/summer of 2023.
“It’s a must for me - 80,000 at Croke Park for the rematch. I mean, that was the disappointing thing about not being able to engage Serrano in those talks. But it is what it is and, you know, we move on.”
