Amanda Owen has told how she was thrown into the midst of a terrifying ordeal recently when one of her children was air lifted to hospital.
The Our Yorkshire Farm star, 48, shares her nine-strong brood with ex Clive.
And despite being well versed in the woes of parenting, Amanda told how it was nevertheless “scary” when one of their children was taken ill.
The 48-year-old mother-of-nine (there’s Raven, Reuben, Miles, Edith, Violet, Sidney, Annas, Clementine and Nancy, aged from 21 to five) told how one of the drawbacks of living on their super remote farm, Ravenseat, was the distance they find themselves from urgent help when it is needed.
Amanda, AKA the Yorkshire Shepherdess, explained how an emergency occurred on the farm in the run up to Christmas.
She told Times Radio : "Three weeks before Christmas, we had another medical emergency on the farm.
“And that was a scary one whereby one of the children was taken ill and that involved a helicopter coming, the air ambulance coming to pick us up...people say it must be amazing living rural, living the way you do.
“That's one of the drawbacks."
A few weeks later, disaster struck again when the farm was left without water or electricity.
She told fans it just "wouldn't be Christmas" without the mishap as her son Reuben, 18, jumped in his digger to help out.
Taking to Twitter sharing pics of the teen in a tractor, she said: "It just wouldn't be Christmas without there being either no water or no electricity.
"Cue everyone to stare despondently into a hole in the ground. Apart from Reuben who is in his element."
Amanda and her husband Clive stunned fans when they announced their separation last June.
A joint statement released at the time read: "Clive and I have are sad to confirm that we have made the difficult decision to separate.
"This hasn't been easy, but we both believe it's the right choice for the future of our family."
The statement continued: "Although we are no longer a couple, we continue to work on the farm and co-parent together with our number one priority the happiness and well-being of our children."
Amanda and Clive thanked everyone for their support and asked for privacy during this "difficult time".
