Amanda Owen's ex-husband Clive admitted he was "very taken" with the Our Yorkshire Farm star when they first met.
Yorkshire Shepherdess Amanda, 47, and Clive, 68, met in 1997 when Amanda visited Ravenseat Farm while working as a trainee shepherdess.
At the time, Clive had not long split from his wife of 13 years and he and Amanda went on to enjoy 22 years of marriage and have nine children together.
However, the pair announced their decision to go their separate ways in June.
In an interview with The Times last year, Amanda and Clive looked back on their first ever encounter.
Amanda recalled: "The first time you and I met you it was a very dark evening. And I'd come to borrow a tup, remember?"
A then 21-year-old Amanda was asked by the farmer she was working for at the time to go to Clive's farm and borrow a ram.
Clive added: "I do remember. This six-foot-something woman knocked at my door," prompting Amanda to quip: "He shouldn't have answered it, should he?"
Clive agreed, laughing and then sweetly added: "But I was very taken with her, you couldn't not be."
He then invited Amanda in for a cup of tea but they didn't appear to hit if off straight away as Amanda recalled: "I saw Clive, he invited me in, the house was trashed – the house is still trashed – we had a cup of tea, chatted for a little while, basic small talk, I got the tup and headed off again. Didn’t think any more of it."
It comes after Amanda, who recently shared the brutal impact the drought was having on her farm, announced her split from Clive in a statement.
She shared the news that she and Clive were going their separate ways in a post on her Instagram Story.
She wrote, in a joint statement: "Clive and I have are sad to confirm that we have made the difficult decision to separate.
"This hasn't been easy, but we both believe it's the right choice for the future of our family."
Leading up to the announcement, there had been speculation over the couple's marriage and it was later reported the pair had been living separately for months beforehand.
A source close to Clive and Amanda told The Mail Online said: "It's really sad for both of them that it's come to this, especially with such a large family and some of them so young.
''It's been an open secret across the dale for a long time that they have been having problems and have been living apart."
Despite the split, their family life and running their farm at Ravenseat will mean the split will see their lives still intertwined not least as they co-parent their brood.
Amanda and Clive share Raven, Reuben, Annas, Clemmy, Edith, Miles, Nancy, Violet and Sidney together.
