Amanda Holden was greeted by her husband and champagne as she completed her 250-mile charity cycling challenge from Cornwall to London.
The Heart Breakfast host and Britain’s Got Talent judge, 53, was in good spirits as she crossed the finish line outside the Heart Radio headquarters in London’s Leicester Square on Friday morning.
Among the welcoming committee were her fellow Heart Breakfast team including showbiz reporter Ashley Roberts and JK [Jason King].
Holden’s record-producer husband Chris Hughes also joined in on the celebrations with her then popping open the bubbly and saying:“Oh, my bum is killing me, everything is killing me! It was amazing, the weather was terrible, some of the hills were barbaric but what a gorgeous way to see the UK.”
Her mammoth cycling challenge was all for a good cause as it was to raise funds for Heart’s charity, Global’s Make Some Noise.
As part of her homecoming, Holden was also treated to a specially prepared full English breakfast by celebrity chef Tom Kerridge, to which she joked: "I've got a day with my husband and you’ve given me beans!”
Completed over five days, it has been an eventful journey for the mum-of-two.
The challenge kicked off on Monday and saw her make her through Somerset, Berkshire, Wiltshire and Surrey before reaching her final destination in the capital.
On Tuesday, she revealed she had to strip naked while her wet clothes dry due to the harsh weather conditions and suffered what she described as a “really weird injury”.
She told The Sun: “My thumbs are aching, it's really weird. I'm currently sitting here naked with nothing but a towel around me because the weather is just horrific.
“Monday was the worst for the hills, but now it's the weather. My wet gear is on a radiator drying in this gorgeous hotel called The Chapel. I had an egg bake for breakfast and two hash browns and I've just had some butternut squash soup before I go back out.”
On Thursday, she was surprised by friend and comedian Leigh Francis, 51, had been hiding in a van and jumped out dressed as the character Elliott from movie E.T - complete with a model of alien E.T. attached to the front of him.
And just when she thought the surprise was over, Francis - who was taking a break from promoting his new autobiography Leigh, Myself and I - revealed that he would be helping Holden with some of her challenge on a tandem bike.
