Amanda Holden ditched her high heels for walking boots as she took on the challenges of Scotland's highest mountain early this morning (Friday).
The Britain's Got Talent judge has completed the Three Peak Challenge, climbing the three highest summits in the UK within 24 hours, raising funds for Global's Make Some Noise. The 51-year-old braved the weather to conquer Snowdon in north Wales on Thursday and Scafell Pike in the Lake District through the night, before heading for the Highlands in the early hours of Friday.
Amanda looked delighted as she reached the top of Ben Nevis at 10am on Friday morning, sharing a video on social media as she popped the cork on some champagne. She said: "I'm sure tomorrow when I look back on it I won't believe that we achieved it because there was some moments where I just didn't think we were gonna make it.
"The weather has been against us the whole way and it must be minus three or four up here at the moment. It is freezing but I am so happy we made it, we did it!"
She reached the top of England's highest mountain just before midnight on Thursday night and posted on social media: "Well that was horrific we made it to the top of #scarfellpike in the [poop emoji] weather ever. Necked a bag of #skittles Now in car on way to #bennevis "
The Heart Radio presenter has been joined by a group of people who represent many of the small charities that will benefit from the challenge.
Nicknamed Mandy’s Mountaineers, each climber has their own personal reason for taking part. Funds raised will help to deliver food banks, mental health support and domestic violence helplines, among other initiatives.
Holden has been sharing posts on social media to show each step of their journey. In a statement shared online, she said: "For the past few years, I have had the privilege of meeting incredible people who do truly life-changing work.
"Right now, so many people across the UK are living in crisis and they need our help. They have inspired me to take on the toughest challenge of my life.
"I've done all the training and am supported by a fantastic team on the journey. We're ready to raise money for these incredible causes and help make some noise for the work that they do."
Anyone who wishes to donate money can do so at the Heart website.
