Amanda Holden makes a sly dig at Holly Willoughby’s This Morning statement on Phillip Schofield

Amanda Holden could not resist taking aim at Holly Willoughby over the statement she gave about Phillip Schofield when she returned to ITV’s This Morning on Monday.

Heart FM radio presenter Holden, 52, has made no secret of the fact that there is no love lost between her, Schofield and Willoughby.

Taking to Instagram Stories on Tuesday, she mimicked Willoughby’s speech in a video.

Appearing on This Morning for the first time since her former co-host’s departure, Willoughby said: “Right, deep breath. Firstly, are you OK? I hope so.

“It feels very strange indeed sitting here without Phil.

“I imagine you might have been feeling a lot like I have – shaken, troubled, let down, worried for the wellbeing of people on all sides of what’s been going on. And full of questions.”

In her first appearance on This Morning after Schofield’s departure, Willoughby said she was “let down and worried” (ITV)

Holden, who opted to wear a similar white outfit to Willoughby, said in her own clip: “Hello, it is Tuesday. Are you OK?”

She then had another jab at Willoughby on the radio.

When talking about doing the show hungover the day before, co-host Jamie Theakston, 52, asked Holden how she was feeling.

She said: “I got home, got straight into bed with my dog and cat. I got up, cooked the tea and went back to bed again at eight.

“I did that thing where you wake up at two and you have to talk yourself back into going to sleep.”

While talking to another guest, Theakstone interjected: “We’re worried about your well-being.”

To which Holden replied: “I’m OK people, are you OK?”

A representative for Holden told the Staandard: “Amanda has always made it clear in the past she has no issues with Holly. Today’s video has been taken completely out of context.”

She was not the only person to lay into Willoughby on the matter.

Former Conservative Party leader Lord Hague told Times Radio: “Therapy is not that big in my life.

“Would it not have been better for her to say: ‘Well, look what a great embarrassment this has all been for all of us. Nobody has covered themselves in glory on this programme in the last few weeks.

“‘But people live, people are still extraordinarily for some reason listening to this, watching this programme and have probably got many bigger problems in their lives so we won’t go on about it, we will just try and do better in future.’

“And just said that.”
