Amanda Holden is hoping footage of her renovating flats will convince her husband she is good at DIY.
The TV star reckons Chris Hughes should let her knock down walls and take on the tiling and plastering when the pair move to their new home.
Amanda, 51, helped do up two flats in Sicily this summer with Alan Carr for their new TV series.
She said: "I want my husband to see me doing it because at home, he wouldn’t trust me to do half of it. It’s been rare that I’ve been allowed to tile something.
"I want him to let me physically get stuck in more. It’s been much more satisfying knowing we’ve done it and there’s walls that we’ve done – and they’re not wonky or falling down.
"Tiling we’ve done… we’ve made lights, we’ve made the whole kitchen out of breeze blocks."
Amanda said music producer Chris was stunned when she told him she wanted to move out of the Surrey home they bought in 2015, as he thought it was "perfect". It is now on the market for £5million.
The Britain’s Got Talent judge said she got bored because there was nothing left to improve.
Amanda added: "I love a challenge. Seven years we were there… that’s long enough."
Comedian Alan, 46, had a different take on renovating flats, however.
He said: "I’m hoping no one sees me do it so no one asks me to do any DIY."
Amanda and Alan’s Italian Job, January 6, BBC1, 8.30pm.
