Amanda Holden sobbed after a boozy mums’ picnic as her daughter Hollie, 11, celebrated a major milestone.
The Britain’s Got Talent judge, 52, honoured her youngest child’s last day of term at her prep school on Wednesday, and was left tearful as Hollie came out of the gates with her friends for the final time.
Amanda, who shares Lexi, 17, and Hollie with husband Chris Hughes, spoke about the emotional afternoon during Thursday’s edition of her Heart Radio show with co-host Jamie Theakston, and said it was the “end of an era”.
“I went down to the prep gate of my daughter's school yesterday to watch her and all her little friends who she's been at that school with since she was four leave. And they all came out of the gates, all in tears… except my daughter,” the TV star explained.
Amanda laughed as she recalled Hollie was unaware of the big milestone she and her friends had reached, told her: “I don't know why everyone's crying, mummy, we're gonna see them in year seven in the mix school.”
“It's an end of an era,” the proud mum replied.
She then told listeners about the wine-soaked picnic she and other mums have at the end of the summer term, and Jamie began teasing her.
“Every year me and my lovely school mums who I also couldn't live without all go to the park have a picnic. A liquid picnic,” she giggled.
“We all take our picnics and blankets and yesterday our brollies. We sat under the brollies reminiscing with our rosé,” Amanda explained.
“How long... when did it start?” Jamie asked, as the Wild at Heart star tried to remember the details.
“Well it started at 12…,” she started, and laughed as Jamie asked when it finished.
“You're like my dad…. seven o'clock…” she mumbled.
She celebrated daughter Hollie just days after taking Lexi to the first day of Wimbledon, and the duo looked picture perfect as they watched the tennis in the glorious sunshine.
Amanda also took along celeb pals Lauren Silverman and Ashley Roberts to the elite event, and looked stunning in an all-white Michael Kors outfit.
