'Aman Sehrawat has paid tribute to his parents by winning bronze medal'

NEW DELHI: Indian wrestler Aman Sehrawat secured a bronze medal in the 57 kg freestyle wrestling event at the Paris Olympics, marking his debut and India's first wrestling medal of the Games. The victory, described by his uncle Sudhir as a heartfelt tribute to his late parents, came after Aman defeated Puerto Rico's Darian Cruz with a 13-5 score on Friday.

Aman’s journey to this achievement has been challenging, particularly following the loss of both his parents at the age of 10. Despite these hardships, he has emerged as one of India's most promising wrestlers. His uncle Sudhir highlighted the resilience and dedication that have defined Aman's path to success.

"He missed the gold medal by a little, but he has won the bronze medal for the country. We just pray that he wins the gold medal next time," Sudhir told ANI. "Aman's life has been full of struggle. He lost his parents at the age of 10, and he has paid tribute to his parents by winning a bronze medal today."

Aman's bronze medal not only symbolizes his personal triumph over adversity but also hints at the potential for even greater accomplishments in future competitions. Sudhir's words reflect the family's hope and determination that Aman will continue to pursue gold in upcoming Olympic Games.

The victory stands as a significant milestone in Aman Sehrawat’s wrestling career, showcasing both his talent and his perseverance in the face of personal challenges.
