UPDATE: Everton suffer another injury blow in warm-up ahead of Fleetwood Town match
Everton’s biggest signing of the summer Amadou Onana starts for the first time in the Carabao Cup tie at League One Fleetwood Town while Anthony Gordon – being pursued by Chelsea - is on the substitutes bench as Blues boss Frank Lampard makes seven changes to his starting line-up.
Teenage centre-back Reece Welch, whose only previous first team experience was a one minute cameo off the bench against non-League Boreham Wood in the FA Cup last season makes his first start for the club.
Asmir Begovic comes into the side in goal as England number one Jordan Pickford is given the night off when Andy Lonergan on the bench.

Seamus Coleman returns to captain the side in what is his first outing of the season, in what looks like a central defensive role, while also starting for the first time this term are centre-back Michael Keane plus on-loan left-back Ruben Vinagre.
Remaining from the side that picked up Everton’s first Premier League point of the season at home to Nottingham Forest on Saturday are right wing back Nathan Patterson, midfielders Tom Davies and Alex Iwobi, who might be deployed further forward this evening and Salomon Rondon, who again spearheads the attack.
Dele Alli is not in the matchday squad, with Allan, Andre Gomes and Jean-Philippe Gbamin also absent.
