Amad sends message to Bruno Fernandes after crucial goal for Manchester United vs Aston Villa

Amad has called his Manchester United teammate Bruno Fernandes a "magician" after the Portuguese ace secured all three points for his side against Aston Villa on Sunday.

Fernandes capitalised on some sloppy goalkeeping from Emiliano Martinez to fire home in the 39th minute of United's clash with Villa. The strike proved to be the only goal of the game, though Erik ten Hag's men were forced to weather a late storm as the visitors pushed to extend their unbeaten run to 11 games.

Fernandes and Amad could be playing alongside each other next season, with MEN Sport understanding Ten Hag is open to the idea of including the Ivory Coast youngster in his first-team plans next term after impressing on loan at Sunderland.

Fernandes took to social media after the Villa game to express his delight at having helped his team edge one step closer to playing in the Champions League once again. "Big win. Big performance. Let’s keep this momentum up," he wrote on Instagram, alongside pictures of himself celebrating his goal.

Amad was quick to reply to the post, writing "mago", meaning magician in Italian.

Despite scoring just six league goals this season, Fernandes' strikes have been key to United's progress under Ten Hag. Of his six goals, four have been scored in games where United have won by a one-goal margin, while he also scored in the Reds' 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace, meaning his goals have effectively earned his side nine points this term.

Meanwhile, Amad has enjoyed a stellar campaign on loan at the Stadium of Light. The 20-year-old's 12 league goals have helped Tony Mowbray's side become genuine play-off contenders. The loanee was recently named Sunderland's Young Player of the Year for his fine season on Wearside.
