Amad Diallo was back on the scoresheet on Monday as the Manchester United loanee sent a reminder of his quality.
The 19-year-old scored twice for Rangers in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Brentford, which saw Christian Eriksen continue his return to football.
Having scored just five minutes into his debut for the Scottish champions, Amad has found the goals harder to come by in subsequent games, and he’s had to battle hard to earn a place in Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side.
He made a 17-minute cameo on Sunday as Rangers drew 1-1 at Dundee United, having been left on the bench in midweek during their incredible 4-2 win at Borussia Dortmund.
But the United loanee sent a timely reminder to Van Bronckhorst as he was named in a strong side to take on Premier League strugglers Brentford at Rangers’ Auchenhowie training ground.
After Zanka opened the scoring for the visitors from Eriksen’s corner, Amad was on hand to turn Mateusz Zukowski’s cross home and level matters.
And it wouldn’t take long for the United teenager to grab another as he reacted quickest to Kemar Roofe’s penalty being saved to convert the rebound and put Rangers 2-1 up.

The hosts were unable to hold on to the win though, with Tristan Crama latching on to Eriksen’s free-kick to earn Brentford a 2-2 draw.
Nevertheless, Amad sent a timely reminder to his manager ahead of Rangers’ return leg against Dortmund on Thursday, when he will be pushing for a place back in the starting line-up.
Rangers fans were left unhappy with the 19-year-old’s performance off the bench on Sunday, but United supporters will hope his display on Monday will be the catalyst for him to kick-start his loan spell up in Glasgow.
