Amad has proven Manchester United right

Amad had three goals in five starts at the time an influential figure at Manchester United suggested he required a run of 10 consecutive starts to showcase his ability. He scored his sixth goal in the tenth at Wigan on Thursday night.

The 20-year-old winger has proven United right in a league measured at a greater intensity than Serie A. Amad's strike, Sunderland's fourth in an emphatic 4-1 victory, was a blockbuster that altered the away-dayers' roar from a 'yaaah' to a 'whooa'.

A handful of fans jubilantly hurdled the first fence of advertising hoardings as Amad approached them. For a set of followers underwhelmed by Adnan Januzaj, the last left-footed winger they loaned in from United six seasons ago, Amad has exceeded expectations.

Antony is getting what Jadon Sancho didn't in his first Manchester United season

Even when things going were going very well for Antony at Manchester United, Erik ten Hag was demanding more from him. Goals in his first three Premier League appearances was an impressive introduction, but his manager knew there was more to come.

Antony hasn't found the back of the net or had an assist since the third of those goals, in the win at Everton on October 9. He's played 530 minutes since that well-taken strike at Goodison Park, although his off-the-ball run in the lead-up to Antony Martial's goal against Nottingham Forest was vital.

But in a team that is beginning to look very impressive under Ten Hag, Antony is still waiting to really catch fire. Marcus Rashford has been excellent in attack and Martial, when fit, has contributed.
