Manchester United forward Amad Diallo has been linked with a return to Sunderland next season according to the latest reports. Alan Nixon, of The Sun, claims the 20-year-old would be open to a return to the Stadium of Light if Tony Mowbray remains as head coach.
There has been plenty of speculation regarding Mowbray's future at the club, having guided them to the Championship play-offs ahead of schedule. The young Black Cats thrived under his stewardship, with Diallo one of the standout players in the division.
However, leading up to the final few games of the Championship, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claimed Francesco Farioli - who most recently managed Turkish club Alanyaspor - was top of Sunderland's managerial hit list for next season. Mowbray is now expected to stay on Wearside and has expressed his desire to continue as Black Cats boss.
