Always enjoyed working with Ramesh Powar: Harmanpreet Kaur

MUMBAI: It seems to happen so often in India's women's cricket setup, that it seems that the players are also used to it by now. Just three days before going into a five-match Women's T20I series against world champions Australia and with two months to go before the T20 World Cup in South Africa, the BCCI removed India's head coach Ramesh Powar, transferring him to the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore, while installing ex-India allrounder Hrishikesh Kanitkar as the team's new batting coach.

To make things worse, there was talk that Powar's exit had been triggered by a complaint against the former India off-spinner by India women's captain Haramanpreet Kaur. It's exactly the kind of chaos you just don't want before playing the World's No 1 ranked team, but on the eve of the series, which kicks off with the opening T20I at the DY Patil Stadium on Friday night, Harmanpreet, speaking to a handful of mediapersons at the BCCI HQ here, appeared to be calm and composed around the mess, even as she cleared the air that it wasn't her who triggered Powar's 'exit button.'
