The New Orleans Saints may not have won the matchup against the Green Bay Packers on Sept. 27, 2020, but one of running back Alvin Kamara’s receptions within the final minute of the third quarter still goes down as one of the best moments in recent team history.
On this one, the versatile Kamara picked up a short pass from quarterback Drew Brees before taking it all the way to the house with the help of a downfield block from Erik McCoy that you’ll have to see to believe. At first, it looked like a quick, short pass that would pick up three or four yards for the team as they tried to make use of the last handful of opportunities they had within the quarter.
That’s clearly far from what happened, though.
Kamara broke some ankles on the play, causing no less than four missed tackles on his way to the end zone. It marked his second touchdown of the evening. The Saints battled it out with the Packers in a high-scoring affair, ultimately falling, 37-30. Kamara finished out the game with 13 catches for 139 yards with 2 touchdowns. On the ground, he also had 6 carries for 58 yards.
