The London travel tech company SkiYodl backed by former F1 boss Eddie Jordan and football pundit Jake Humphrey has launched a crowd fund to raise finance for the next phases of its growth.
The app which allows users to book a range of ski related services on a single “one stop shop” platform, plans to launch into more European resorts and for the first time North American locations
New investors joining the existing 456 backers in this round of fundraising can earn rewards depending on the level they commit to from sustainable snoods and t-shirts to VIP ski parties.
Eddie Jordan said: “I adore skiing, apres skiing in particular and that’s why I became an investor in skiyodl. This is a business that is going places, and that’s why I absolutely believe in them.”
The company was founded by Oli Dannatt and business partner Si Latarche. Dannatt was a private ski instructor to Richard Branson and lived in Verbier for ten years. His high profile clients included the late Gianluca Vialli, Natalie Imbruglia, Jamie and Jooles Oliver, Dexter Fletcher, Claudia Schiffer, Clive Woodwood and Peter Gabrielle.
SkiYodl has a community of in-resort locals in twelve major resorts and more than 4,500 plus separate accommodation listings.
Founder Oli Dannatt said: “In a world where you can book almost anything in a single tap, the ski travel market hasn’t kept up. There is a gap in the market for local, honest resort information available to live book.
“Ski Yodl is a technology led business and brings customers the ability to search and book their ski trip in real time. However, our real secret is in who we know. Our growing network of in-resort fixers bring our customers the very best resort discovery with absolutely no BS. In our first season we generated £1.1m in booking revenue and already have a 30,000+ following on social media and email.”
