Devilish Ally McCoist turned to radio sparring partner Alan Brazil for clarification on the Champions League rules after Celtic's 3-1 defeat to RB Leipzig.
The Rangers icon often can't resist a jibe in the direction of his pal's favourite team and was up bright and early on Thursday for some mischief. Brazil and McCoist were breaking down Scotland's representatives in the Champions League over the first three matchdays. Celtic were outgunned against the Germans and Leipzig were also ruing two razor-close goals which were ruled out for offside. And that's where the 60-year-old spotted a chance to strike.
Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: "What was the story last night? Did Leipzig have to score two to get one, what is the deal? Brazil responded: "Yeah, I thought both the goal that were chopped off were offside, if I'm being deadly honest, I said 'that's offside'. I thought they were going to get away with it, and then all of a sudden the referee changes his mind, I was like 'woah', I thought they were both offside."
McCoist then sharply countered, adding: "I thought the first one was just offside, if you had scored the second one, you would have been livid."
Before a knowing Brazil added: "No, no, no, VAR doesn't lie! The referee looked at the television, Chris Sutton got it right, we got away with one, but (Hart) what was he doing?"
