Ally McCoist insists he has huge belief in Michael Beale as Rangers continue their quest to refresh the Ibrox squad this summer.
The Light Blues have already signed goalkeeper Jack Butland, midfielder Kieran Dowell from Norwich and defender Dujon Sterling.
Dutchman Sam Lammers is also set to be confirmed in the coming hours as he arrives in Glasgow from Atalanta.
McCoist has been impressed by Rangers' business so far, but he reckons strikers are the priority for manager Beale.
Asked by Sir Rod Stewart if he had belief in Beale, McCoist replied: "I have, absolutely. Big window for us coming up.
"Signed Jack Butland which I'm happy about, it's a similar signing I think to you boys signing Hart.
"I still think we need two centre forwards, at least."
Stewart then asked about the fitness of Ianis Hagi and McCoist added: "I think Hagi is half a yard short of being absolutely top class.
"I think if he was half a yard quicker he wouldn't be with us."
Meanwhile, Alex McLeish stressed the need for Rangers “to get off to a flier” next season while Celtic reset following the departure of Ange Postecoglou.
The dominant Hoops claimed the domestic treble last season but are searching for a new boss after the former Australia manager left last week to join Tottenham.
McLeish, boss at Ibrox between 2001 and 2006, offered some advice to his former club, saying: “They have to make a great start.
“While Celtic may be with a new manager, new coaches, planning a strategy maybe not the same as Postecoglou’s, there could be a little bit of disruption and Rangers have to start extremely well.
“The big thing is recruitment.
“I am sure Michael has a good eye for players and if he has the right signings…they have to get off to a flier.
“I’m sure he has brought young and vibrant players in but when you come to a club like Rangers you’ve got to hit the ground running and that’s just the facts.”
