Allergy Alert: Check Your Fridge Immediately—Gatorade Recalls 122K Cases Over Hidden Dyes

WASHINGTON, DC - OCTOBER 06: Containers of Gatorade stand on the shelf of a grocery store on October 06, 2026 in Washington, DC. A recall has been declared for 28-ounce bottles of Gatorade Lemon Lime, Gatorade Lemon Lime Zero, Gatorade Orange and Gatorade Orange Zero that may contain Yellow No. 6 and/or Yellow No. 5, which can trigger allergic-type reactions. The Briefing

  • 122,021 cases of 28-oz Gatorade pulled in 37 states — recall voluntarily initiated by PepsiCo on Sept. 25, 2026; FDA classified it Class II on Oct. 2.
  • Affected flavors: Lemon Lime, Lemon Lime Zero, Orange, and Orange Zero — all 28-ounce bottles only; no other sizes or flavors are involved.
  • The issue: Yellow No. 5 and/or Yellow No. 6 were present in the drinks but never listed on the label — a regulatory violation that matters most for people with aspirin sensitivity, asthma, or known dye reactions. Do not consume; return for a refund.
