Allahabad HC issues notice to Anil Ambani, kin in fraud case

MEERUT: Taking cognisance of a petition filed by a freelance journalist, Pawan Kumar pertaining to an alleged scam running into thousands of crores of rupees by industrialist Anil Ambani, the Allahabad HC has ordered that a notice be issued to 27 of the 31 respondents, including RBI, Sebi, director of financial intelligence unit (Mumbai), DGP (UP), SSP Bulandshahr, Anil Ambani and his wife Tina Ambani and their sons -- Anmol and Anshul, among others, seeking their replies within three weeks.

In its order issued on Wednesday, the HC bench headed by Justice Suneet Kumar, taking note of allegations of harassment by the petitioner, said: "It is urged that till the next date of listing, the state police be restrained from investigating the crime."
