All weekend EFL games cancelled as football pays respect to the Queen

The upcoming English Football League weekend schedule has been postponed following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

It was confirmed on Thursday evening that the Queen had passed away at her Balmoral residence aged 96. European football matches taking place last night went ahead as originally scheduled, with several tributes being paid to the monarch.

Players wore black armbands while a minute's silence was observed as Manchester United faced Real Sociedad in the Europa League at Old Trafford while West Ham United faced FCSB at the London Stadium in the Europa Conference League.
