Every VUE cinema across Greater Manchester has sold out of tickets to watch the Queen’s funeral on the big screen. The cinema chain has cancelled all regular showings for Monday, September 19 and instead are screening the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.
All five cinema venues in the Manchester area at Bolton, Bury, Salford Quays, Printworks and Altrincham have run out of tickets. The showing will start at 10am at each cinema and is expected to run for around five hours.
Other major cinema chains such as Cineworld, Odeon, and Showcase will be shutting down on September 19 in a mark of respect for the Queen.

“Seats will be free of charge and our retail offering on this day will be limited to complimentary bottled water during the broadcast, with no other snacks or drinks available for purchase,” VUE said on their website. “On this day we will not be showing our normal programme of films.”
