All The Winners & Losers From The 2026 Oscars, AKA Cinema’s Night Of Nights

That’s a wrap on the 2026 Oscars, officially marking the end of this year’s award season (and Timothée Chalamet‘s chances of winning an Oscar for Marty Supreme). Between the fierce competition and a string of historic firsts, the 98th Academy Awards proved to be a landmark night for the films of 2025.

After a close race between Sinners (aka the best vampire film since Twilight) and the action-thriller One Battle After Another for Best Picture, it was the latter that ended up taking home the coveted award. While Ryan Coogler‘s Sinners made history with a whopping 16 nominations, Paul Thomas Anderson‘s One Battle After Another ended up receiving the most awards of the night with six, including Best Casting, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Best Film Editing, Best Directing and Best Picture.

Unfortunately, all four of this year’s Aussie nominees walked away empty-handed. Rose Byrne and Jacob Elordi were both first-time nominees for their respective roles in If I Had Legs I’d Kick You and Frankenstein, while musician Nick Cave and costume and production designer Fiona Crombie had also hoped to receive a gold statuette.
