All the roadworks happening in Greater Manchester this week

Road works can be a pain for all those travelling both in and out of the city.

Below is a comprehensive and helpful guide to all the roadworks across Manchester and in your area, to give you a head start in planning your journey and avoiding pit falls.

This is what to expect over the coming week according to Transport for Greater Manchester.

Central Manchester

  • A road closure will be in place on Great Ducie Street in Manchester between the junction of Great Ducie Street and New Bridge Street from 29th - 31st March. The work is taking place between 2100 - 0300hrs and is being undertaken by United Utilities Water Ltd.

Manchester

  • Two-Way signals will be in place on Rochdale Road, at its junction with Pine Street, until Friday 15 April for works between 9.30am and 3.30pm.

  • There will be alane closure in place on Altrincham Road, Benchill from Monday 21 March to Friday 1 April.

  • Lane closure in place on Altrincham Road, Benchill from 21 March to 1 April 2022. No times have been specified for these works which will be undertaken by Electricity North West.

Bolton

  • There are currently no planned major roadworks due to take place in Bolton this week.
Roadworks (Liverpool Echo)

Bury

  • Two-way signals will be in place opposite 417 Bury and Bolton Road in Radcliffe from 29th - 31st March. The work is taking place between 0930 - 1530hrs and is being undertaken by Geo.

Oldham

  • Multiway signals will be in place on Middleton Road, Chadderton (outside the junction of Nordens Street and the junction of Middlewood Court) from Thursday 17 March to Friday 1 April 2022 between 9.30am and 3.30pm.

  • Multi-way signals will be in place on Middleton Road in Chadderton at the junction with Peel Street from 22nd to 31st March. Times for the work are not specified and the work is being undertaken by Oldham MBC.

  • Multiway signals in place on Middleton Road, Chadderton outside the junction of Nordens Street and the junction of Middlewood Court from 17 March to 1 April 2022 between 0930hrs and 1530hrs. Signals to be manually operated 0730hrs to 0930hrs and 1530hrs to 1800hrs. These works will be undertaken by Electricity North West.

Rochdale

  • Multi-way signals will be in place on Middleton Road in Chadderton, at the junction with Peel Street, from Tuesday 22 to Thursday 31 March.

Salford

  • There will be lane closures in place at the following locations for the Trafford Road improvement scheme; Regent Road roundabout, Broadway, Goodiers Drive, Trafford Road and Merchants Quay. The work is taking place until April 2022.

  • Multiway signals will be in place on Marlborough Road, close to the junction with Dudley Street, from Wednesday 16 to Tuesday 29 March.

  • Two-way signals will be in place on Leigh Road in Worsley from 28th March - 1st April. The work is taking place between 0930 - 1530hrs and is being undertaken by TfGM.

  • A lane closure will be in place on Albion Way in Salford opposite Jo Street from 29th - 31st March. The work is taking place between 0930 - 1200hrs and is being undertaken by TfGM.
Roadworks (Kenny Brown)

Stockport

  • A lance closure will be in place on A555 Manchester East Airport Link, Woodford from Gilbent Roundabout to Woodford Road from Wednesday 16 March to Monday 4 April between 9.30am and 3.30pm.

Tameside

  • Two-way signals will be in place on Manchester Road (outside house 255) until 3 June. Work will take place 9.30am to 3.30pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and from 10pm on Saturdays to 8am on Sundays.
  • Two-way signals in place outside 387 Manchester Road, Mossley from 22 March to 28 March 2022 between 0930hrs and 1530hrs. These works will be undertaken by Electricity North West.

Trafford

  • There are currently no planned major roadworks due to take place in Trafford this week.

Wigan

  • There is a lane closure in place on King Street, from the junction with Wallgate, until Sunday 10 April.
