A number of road closures are set to affect areas around the M4 this week. There will be a number of closures at junctions along the road due to planned roadworks Traffic Wales and National Highways have confirmed.
The plans include full and partial closures which are likely to cause disruption for motorists in parts of south Wales including Cardiff, Newport, and Swansea as well as those travelling between Wales and England. People travelling early in the morning or late at night, when the closures are taking place, are most likely to be affected.
Here are all the planned road closures on the M4 in Wales and England for the week commencing Monday, August 15.

M4 closures in Wales:
The M4 westbound between junctions 42 and 41: The M4 will be closed between junction 42 Earlswood and junction 41 Pentyla/Baglan from August 8 to August 16 between 8pm and 6am every day. This is due to resurfacing work and local diversions will be in place.
The M4 westbound between junctions 41 and 43: The M4 will be closed at the entry slip road from junction 41 Pentyla/Baglan to junction 43 Llandarcy from August 8 to August 15 between 8pm and 6am every day. This is to facilitate resurfacing work.
M4 closures in England:
The M4 westbound between junctions 10 and 11: The M4 westbound between junctions 10 and 11 will be closed between 8pm and 6am from August 15 to August 17 due to planned roadworks.
The M4 eastbound between junctions 12 and 11: The M4 eastbound between junctions 12 and 11 will be closed between 8pm and 6am from August 15 to August 17 due to planned roadworks.
The M4 westbound at junction 20: The M4 westbound at junction 20 will be partially closed from 11pm to 6am between August 17 and August 20 due to roadworks.
The M4 eastbound between junctions 17 and 16: The M4 eastbound between junctions 17 and 16 will be partially shut from 10pm on August 19 to 6am on August 20 due to planned road repairs.
The M4 eastbound between junctions 10 and 6: The M4 eastbound between junctions 10 and 6 will be partially closed from August 15 to August 17 between 8pm and 6am every day due to roadworks.
The M4 westbound between junctions 6 and 8: The M4 westbound between junctions 6 and 8 will be partially closed from August 15 to August 17 between 8pm and 6am every day due to roadworks.
The M4 westbound between junctions 19 and 20: The M4 westbound between junctions 19 and 20 will be partially closed from August 17 to August 20 between 11pm and 6am every day due to roadworks.
The M4 westbound between junctions 18 and 20: The M4 westbound between junctions 18 and 20 will be partially closed from August 15 to August 17 between 10pm and 6am every day due to roadworks.
The M4 westbound between junctions 3 and 4B: The M4 westbound between junctions 3 and 4B will be closed from 10pm on August 20 to 5.30am on August 21 and from 10.30pm on August 21 to 5.30am on August 22 due to roadworks.
The M4 westbound between junctions 2 and 3: The M4 westbound between junctions 2 and 3 will be partially closed from 10pm on August 20 to 5.30am on August 21 and from 10.30pm on August 21 to 5.30am on August 22 due to roadworks.
