There will be a number of closures on the M4 in the coming week. Several planned works are due to take place along the road both in Wales and England, Traffic Wales and National Highways has confirmed.
Motorists are being warned the work could mean delays for those travelling early in the morning or late at night and will affect those travelling in south Wales near Cardiff, Newport and Swansea. The work includes both full and partial closures as well as lane reductions.

All the M4 closures in Wales:
- The M4 westbound at junction 35 Pencoed entry slip road will be closed due to environmental work from January 9 to 13. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am each day.
- The M4 eastbound at junction 48 Hendy exit slip road will be closed due due environmental work from January 9 to 10. It will be shut from 8pm to 6am.
All the M4 closures in England:
- The M4 westbound between junctions 1 and 2 will be closed from 11pm on January 13 to 6am on January 14 due to roadworks.
- The M4 westbound between junctions 21 and 23 will be closed between January 18 and 20 from 10pm to 6am each day.
- The M4 westbound between junctions 12 and 13 between January 7 and January 10 between 9pm and 6am every day.
- The M4 westbound between junctions 10 and 12 will be closed from 8pm on January 13 to 6am on January 14.
