The Conservatives will be looking to keep control on the two Nottinghamshire lower-tier councils which it currently leads in May's elections. Newark and Sherwood District Council and Rushcliffe Borough Council are the only authorities currently led by the Conservatives in Nottinghamshire.
The Conservatives currently hold 29 seats at Newark, compared to Labour's seven, two held by the Liberal Democrats and one independent councillor. On May 4, the Conservatives will be the only party fielding a candidate for each of the 37 seats available.
Other parties running include several independents, Liberal Democrats, Greens, the Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition and Reform UK. Below are the full list of candidates standing for Newark and Sherwood on May 4.
