Ireland's next Bank Holiday is here, with many enjoying an extra day off work or school on February 6.
2022 was unique for having a 'double' public holiday in March. The once-off, extra day off after St Patrick’s Day was introduced as a tribute to health workers and to remember those who died with Covid.
But it won't be a part of the 2023 public holiday calendar. Instead a new permanent Bank Holiday will be given to celebrate St Brigid's Day, and will be held annually on the first Monday in February.
