With Easter Sunday almost three weeks away, it’s time to lay out your plans for the weekend – top of the list, what food you’ll be eating. The hallmarks of the springtime holiday have arrived: weather warming up, days becoming longer, and the seasonal delights from the best hot cross buns to the best Easter eggs springing up on our supermarket shelves.
Whether you’re hosting a table full of family for Easter lunch or hatching plans for an Easter egg hunt, it pays to know when supermarkets are open with the bank holiday throwing usual opening times out of the window.
To help you organise your Easter food shop, I’ve found when each UK supermarket is open over the Easter bank holiday, from Good Friday to Easter Monday. To avoid turning up to locked doors, it’s always best to check the opening times of your local store as there are regional variations and different timings for convenience stores.
