Kalvin Phillips looks increasingly likely to remain at Leeds United beyond this summer, after the Whites secured their Premier League status on the final day of the season. There has been much speculation surrounding the England international midfielder, but the player himself has regularly stated that he would like to remain at Elland Road.
That seemed highly unlikely when Leeds were the favourites to be relegated and there were rumours that a deal for Phillips to move to Manchester City had been agreed in the case that the Whites did drop back into the second tier. Clubs such as Aston Villa, Arsenal, Manchester United and West Ham have all also been mentioned as potential destinations but Leeds are now in a situation where they can rebuff any approaches for their prized asset, now that their top-flight status is secured.
All bets would have been off regarding where Phillips might have ended up should the worst had happened on the Premier League's final day. However, as Leeds have remained in the Premier League, they can hold out for a far higher fee than City would likely want to spend on a player who would be behind Rodri in the pecking order.
