Hard-up Brits can get extra financial help this summer as major retailers like Asda and Sainsbury's bring in money-saving schemes.
The move is meant to help households handle the rising cost of living , with steep rises in energy bills, food , petrol and more.
The discounts are all part of the Government’s Help for Households campaign.
Details of all the deals are on a special Government website .
Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the campaign will help families across the country who are “feeling the pinch”.
Here are all the retailers taking part and all the help on offer.
Asda
The deals include the extension of supermarket giant Asda’s scheme allowing children to buy a meal for £1.
This lets kids aged 16 and under get a hot or cold meal for a quid at any time of day in Asda cafes across the UK.
The deal lasts every day of the week, and there is no need for parents or guardians to buy a meal as part of it.
It was due to run through the summer holidays , but will now last until the end of 2022.
Asda chief corporate affairs and people officer Hayley Tatum said the supermarket's Kids Eat for £1 offer would "be extended to all cafes across the UK until the end of the year".
Morrisons
Morrisons is also providing a free meal for every child at in-store cafes when a parent buys an adult meal.
The deal applies if you buy an adult meal worth £4.99 or more.
The free meal has to be a chilled kids snack pack or come from Morrisons' kids menu.
Sainsbury's
Sainsbury's has launched a “feed your family for a fiver” campaign.
This is a list of budget-friendly meal ideas to feed a family of four for less than £5.
The recipes include chili con carne, beef kebabs, sourdough pizza and prawn paella.
Sainsbury's chief executive Simon Roberts said: "The rising cost of living is at the forefront of customers’ minds, so we are delighted that our Feed your Family for a Fiver campaign is part of the initiative, helping people save money when it matters most."
Vodafone and Amazon
Other offers are some London theatres letting children see a West End show for free in August with a fee-paying adult.
Mobile firm Vodafone is promoting a mobile social tariff of £10 a month.
The tariff, VOXI For Now, is only available to people on Government benefits such as Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment.
Amazon will also launch a 'Help For Households' page with links to get free music and TV, learning resources and cheap groceries.
Boris Johnson added: "Both the public and private sector have a role to play here – and that’s why it’s great to see so many leading UK businesses are now coming forward to offer new deals and discounts that will provide much needed respite at the checkout.
“This won’t solve the issue overnight but it’s yet another weapon in our arsenal as we fight back against scourge of rising prices and inflation.”
More discounts will be announced as kids go back to school after the summer holidays, during the Autumn and before Christmas.
