Majestic have announced they will be closing all stores on Monday, September 19, following the death of Queen Elizabeth II. Majestic is one of the UK's most popular wine retailers with over 1,000 staff and 200 stores.
CEO John Colley said: "So that our colleagues can pay their respects on Monday, we will be closing all Majestic’s stores. This will also impact deliveries - with neither our Majestic vans nor our third party courier operating across the Bank Holiday day.
"Everyone at Majestic wishes to extend their heartfelt sympathies to the Royal Family at this time. I hope you understand our decision on this occasion.
"As the nation comes together to mourn, we believe it is only right that our teams have the chance to commemorate the occasion in their own way. We will of course be open, as usual, on Sunday.
"You can still place an order via Shop Local up until 1pm to have your wines, beers and spirits ready for collection before 5pm. Our stores will be back open again on Tuesday morning, at 10am."
The CEO signed off by thanking patrons for "continued support" and "looks forward to seeing you again in our Majestic stores soon."
