A top bar and restaurant chain is set to open an all-day venue in Cardiff city centre. Coppa Club has venues across the UK but is now heading to the Welsh capital, promising a members club experience that doesn't require fees or even a table booking.
The new venue, which will be known as The Cardiff Townhouse, is taking over the former Moss Bros store on the Hayes. It is one of three new restaurants coming to the street, with Ivy Asia and The Giggling Squid all set to open later this year.
An application to display new signage at the unit was submitted to Cardiff council earlier this month and has now been given the go-ahead by the planning department. Get the latest What's On news from Cardiff and beyond sent straight to your inbox by signing up to our newsletter.

Described as a "clubhouse for anyone, at any time," Coppa Club venues provide "relaxed spaces to eat, drink, meet, work and stay". There is an all-day bar and restaurant service, with guests able to enjoy morning coffee, brunch, dinner and drinks all in one place.
The chain already has 11 other venues across the UK, including London, Berkshire, Surrey, East Sussex and Oxfordshire. There is also a clubhouse in Bristol's Clifton Village, while a new venue opened in Bath earlier this year.
Visitors can relax in a cosy, quiet lounge and workspace for however long they want, while a few existing clubhouses even have hotel rooms for guests to stay in. However, there is no indication that rooms will be available at the new Cardiff venue, which is set over two floors and extends over neighbouring units.
The wide-ranging menu features everything from fried breakfasts and bar classics to fresh salads and three-course celebration dinners. At the bar, you can grab a coffee before treating yourself to a selection of fancy cocktails, while other venues are also available for use to host parties and family gatherings.
The exact opening times for the new bar and restaurant are currently unknown. However, other Coppa Club venues around the country tend to open between 7.30am and 11pm from Monday to Thursday, while some are open as late as 11.30pm on Friday and Saturdays.
An entry on the chain's website reads: "For years, only members' clubs offered a space for people to enjoy any time of the day. So we created Coppa Club. No fees, and everyone's welcome. Coppa Club is a place to just be. With friends or on your own, to work or socialise. At any time of day.
"We create clubhouses in beautiful locations for you to escape the everyday. In the countryside, the heart of a village or with panoramic views of a city, we're a bit like home, but better."
The approved application states that the new signage will remain at the unit from this July until 2027. Work on transforming the unit into the luxury townhouse is expected to start later this year.
