Maps in Marvel Rivals feature lots of rooms and destructible environments you can interact with. Fully exploring maps is also crucial if you want to complete various achievements and tasks like Shero of Wakanda and triggering Recursive Destruction.

Most maps also have Easter eggs or teasers for potential and leaked characters. There’s certainly a lot to see and do around each map, so if you want to take your time exploring them, you may want to create your own custom match. It’s tough to really appreciate the map when you’re focused on battling against enemy players.

New maps usually come out each season, but not all may be available in Quick Match/Competitive. For example, Alchemax Headquarters, released in Season 8, was only for the 18v18 Doom Match mode.
