The Tennessee Titans have a boatload of needs to address when free agency unofficially begins on March 13 with the legal tampering period, and officially on March 15, the start of the new league year.
While most of the attention has rightly been on the offense, the Titans are staring down the barrel of having to replace both of their 2022 starting linebackers, Zach Cunningham and David Long.
Cunningham has already been cut, and Long will hit the open market at 4 p.m. ET next Wednesday. As of now, there hasn’t been any indication that Long will be re-signed before then.
As far as in-house options go, 2021 third-round pick Monty Rice is first in line to start, but there’s no telling how he’ll be in a starting role with a fairly small sample size to go off of.
Behind Rice, we have guys like Jack Gibbens and Chance Campbell, both of whom aren’t certain to make the roster in 2023, let alone be starters on it.
Even if Long is brought back, the Titans may still be on the lookout for a linebacker, and likely one who specializes in coverage, something Long is still trying to improve at.
With their uncertainty at the position, here’s a look at the list of linebackers Tennessee will be able to target if they look to free agency to fill the void, whether that be at a starting or backup spot, or both.
