All 32 NFL teams (including Texans and Will Anderson Jr.) ranked by their edge rushers

It was the right call by Nick Caserio to draft Will Anderson Jr.

Damn the price. Damn the draft capital. Forget everything else besides the fact that the Houston Texans landed the right guy for the long haul.

Anderson must build off his breakout Defensive Rookie of the Year season entering 2024, but he has a great teacher to work out the kinks in practice.

“I’ve tried some of Danielle [Hunter’s] moves, and they are working,” Anderson said last week. “Because I’ve learned how to take care of my body, how to do those things to help me turn a corner, how to help me get off blocks, how to escape, how to help me use the long arm and things like that.”

Hunter, a Houston native and Pro Bowl edge rusher, joins Houston on a two-year deal after a record-setting season in Minnesota. While the asking price was high, he could be considered an upgrade over the recently departed Jonathan Greenard following his 16.5-sack season.

Houston has depth coming off the edge entering Year 2 of the DeMeco Ryans’ era. Derek Barnett was a find late in the year after being waived by Philadelphia. Denico Autry played both defensive end and defensive tackle during his three seasons with Tennessee. How good are Solomon Byrd and Dylan Horton? Their upside might be the most significant separator in the AFC South come midseason.

But where does this group of Anderson, Hunter, Autry, Byrd and Horton rank among the league’s rest? ESPN’s Mike Clay has a take:
