Alistair Johnston admits he feels at home at Celtic and in Scotland already as he made a 'half of the city' quip.
Ange Postecoglou snapped up the Canada World Cup star ahead of the January transfer window as one of three new recruits to walk in the door so far this month. He has been joined by J-League duo Yuki Kobayashi and Tomoki Iwata - both are yet to feature for the Hoops with Kobayashi named on the bench.
Johnston - an arrival from CF Montreal - was handed an instant baptism of fire in the Old Firm derby with Rangers and has also played since. Josip Juranovic was favoured for the League Cup semi-final win over Kilmarnock at right-back with the new recruit eyeing up a starting berth against St Mirren under the lights at Parkhead. The Buddies are the only team to defeat Celtic in the Premiership so far this campaign.

On his time in Glasgow and the Hoops to date, he told Celtic's official website: “It’s been unbelievably easy. Coming in during January can be difficult for players and I was told to try and find my feet, get through the first couple of months and get settled and then we will see from there.
"But the guys have been super welcoming, the whole coaching staff, and the entire city have been as well. Half the city may not be as welcoming as the other half, but it’s been really good and I feel at home.
"The weather hasn’t been too bad and it’s better than what I’m used to in January so I’ve really enjoyed it and I feel part of the squad and to be able to play has made it all worth it. I’ve really been enjoying it and it’s been a pretty smooth transition so far.

“I haven’t been one that’s taken it for granted since I’ve come in and every day is focusing on how I can get better and showing this staff and everyone in the team that they can trust me on the field.”
