Alisson confesses he could be in career best form as Liverpool endure one of their worst starts to a campaign in years.
The Brazilian has been called upon more often than he'd like with the Reds winning just four of their 12 Premier League games. They've already tasted defeat on four occasions - double their total from the whole of last season. Liverpool have conceded 15 times thus far, but it could've been more had it not been for their goalkeeper.
Alisson's arrival is seen as a major catalyst for the Merseyside outfit, who won the Champions League in his first season. The 30-year-old has made 39 saves so far this term, the fifth most in the league, which underlines the amount of work he's been asked to do, but the goalkeeper believes it has taken his game to another level.
“So far, it could be," he said when quizzed on whether he's producing career best form. "I think last season was a really good season for myself. My target is to do at least the same, to keep the same level. We are trying to find consistency as a team and, if I can do it only for myself, for me it is not right.
“This moment is no different; not all the results are coming out for us in the end, but this is football and you have to fight, try to fight more and my team-mates are helping me every matchday to be the best I can do.”
Alisson might be happy with his efforts, but it has shone a light on Liverpool's faltering defence. Their backline, led by Virgil van Dijk, has previously been one of their greatest assets. Andy Robertson, who has been a stalwart at left-back, has admitted that the team have relied upon Alisson too much.

The Scot said previously: "I think Ali's the best in the world for sure in what he does. We've all probably let him down this season in that he's faced too many shots, he's had to be making too many saves and I think he'll be a lot happier [after the win over City]. Ali on the ball is unbelievable and you have to trust him in those moments."
Liverpool's No 1 added on his own efforts when speaking to liverpoolfc.com : “It’s really good and something nice when people see how good you are doing on the pitch, as well as to feel I am doing something good to help the team to try to achieve targets. I always try my best in the games to help the team to get the results we want. In a few games we did, but others we didn’t."
