When it comes to Liverpool’s reluctance to talk about the holy grail of the quadruple, then Alisson clearly didn’t get the memo.
With every step closer to achieving a feat which has never been done before in football history, it appeared that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp instructed his side to talk less and less about the possibility of following up their Carabao Cup win with three more trophies.
Yet it appears Alisson wasn’t listening to that particular message. Because the Brazilian was not just ready to talk about winning four trophies, he was also happy to reveal the planning which has gone into such an audacious bid.
It was Liverpool ’s dream from the start, he explained, and now they are within touching distance, the aim is simple: “Win Everything!” Speaking ahead of the Champions League showdown with Benfica, where Klopp’s side are so close to a semi final place - and another step towards that ‘impossible’ quadruple, he said: “We have the targets which is achieving all the finals, playing all the games – as many games as it's possible for us in the season – so we want to win everything. We are ready for that.
“We are in a big club and a big club wants to do great things, wants to achieve great goals. In the beginning of the season you start to dream already, you set the targets and prepare yourself for the whole season. The targets are high and our main focus is to win any title that is in front of us, every challenge that is in front of us, so it is something which is already in our minds and we will fight for every challenge which is in front of us now.”
Klopp himself is pessimistic about Liverpool chances of winning multiple trophies, saying his side “cannot go for four trophies…we are just part of four competitions” because of the ridiculous fixture list and tv demands. But Alisson, again failing to get that particular memo, is confident the work he and his team-mates do in fitness and conditioning, and the incredible medical team at the club and their methods, allow them to dream big…and go for all four prizes.

He added: “At this level we need to be prepared for that and we are. We have a great fitness staff, we are training every day for that. We are ready for that. Of course it is not easy, of course we sometimes feel tired but you need to put in your mind you have energy enough to deal with every challenge.”
For Alisson, there is no such thing as ‘impossible’ as his remarkable goal which gave Liverpool the chance to even be in the Champions League testifies. He became the first Reds keeper to score in history when he rose to head home a late winner against West Brom at The Hawthorns last season. They were wild scenes as the Reds snatched victory from what looked set to be a damaging draw to their late push to qualify for this season's Champions League.
And he joked that he would do it again if his side needed something remarkable to keep the quadruple going. Alisson added: “I think if it is needed it is clear I am going,” he said with a smile. “ Normally it is the boss that decides if I go or not. Against West Brom it was [goalkeeper coach] John [Achterberg] who called me to go to the box. If they call me I go, if not, no problem. We have enough players to score. I hope it will not be necessary but if it is needed, if it is the last time, we will try everything we have to win the games.”
