Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary made a smiley appearance as they returned to host This Morning on Friday (July 22). The pair have been at the helm of the ITV daytime show for two weeks as part of the summer shows.
They have been the first duo to replace Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield as they enjoyed their lengthy annual summer break. But that's all set to change as usual Friday hosts Alison and Dermot confirmed it is their last day.
Alison, 47, had the realisation during Thursday's show (July 21)when she said: "This is our penultimate day, and then we're on holiday aren't we?" Dermot, 49, nodded in agreement before Alison put on a sarcastic voice and said: "Oh, what a shame," before bursting out into laughter.
Opening Friday's show, the pair once again confirmed that it would be the last viewers will be seeing of them for a while. "Welcome to your Friday's This Morning," Alison cheerily said. She then added: "It's our last one," before turning to Dermot for a high-five.
But Alison ended up scolding Dermot. "God, you're very aggressive sometimes... Could you be a bit softer?" referring to the energy he put into their hands meeting.
Dermot then said he was "excited" before they high-fived again - but a little more softly this time. "That's better, much better," Alison then said before Dermot moved things on to reveal what was coming up on the show.
Alison and Dermot are set to be replaced by Josie Gibson, who has been a constant hit with viewers of the show after she was thrown into the main hosting role for the first time last year, and Craig Doyle who fans of This Morning have met before when he replaced Dermot on the show.
Rochelle Humes will also be put back in the hot seat but will be joined by Good Morning Britain and Lorraine regular Andi Peters. Josie will later return with Bolton's very own Vernon Kay who made his hosting debut on This Morning in December. Rochelle and Craig will then join forces before her former The Saturday's pal Mollie King takes her spot alongside Craig.
And one return that is really getting viewers excited is that of Ruth Langsford. She hasn't been seen on the show since last year, before her husband and co-star Eamonn Holmes quit This Morning after 15 years. She'll be joined back on the programme by her 'TV son' Rylan Clark who himself hasn't been seen presenting on the show for a number of years.
Rochelle and Vernon finally take the reins to end the summer before Holly and Phil's return at the start of September.
