Alison Hammond reduces caller to tears as she urges her to dump 'horrible' boyfriend

Alison Hammond reduced a viewer to tears on Thursday's This Morning during the ITV show's latest phone in.

Alison and her co-host Dermot O'Leary had encouraged people to call in and speak to Vanessa Feltz for the 'Am I being unreasonable?' agony aunt segment.

One woman named Cherry called in and asked if she was being unreasonable because she wants to spend more time with her boyfriend.

"We've been together for just over a year now and every time I say about meeting up, going cinema or bowling or something, he always says, 'yeah yeah we'll do it', but nothing comes of it," Cherry explained.

"And when he does come over we just end up doing one thing and then he leaves," she added as Vanessa looked shocked.

Dishing out some advice, Vanessa told her: "As far as I can see it's not that you just want to spend time with him, what you want is an actual relationship where sex is part of it.

"It seems to me that he is treating you as a booty call and you know that and you don't like it and I don't think it's unreasonable not to like it."

Cherry then revealed that when she tried speaking to him about it last week, they got into a "bit of a fight" and he blocked her for 24 hours before getting back in contact with her.

"I just don't want to be treated like that," Cherry told Vanessa as she told her she needs to think about ending the relationship.

Alison, 47, clearly felt for Cherry and tried her best to make her feel better after Vanessa gave her advice.

"Oh Cherry I want to empower you now and just say to you babes, there's someone out there who's just gonna love you to bits, wanna take you out for meals and treat you the way you deserve to be treated," Alison said.

Cherry could be heard breaking down in tears as Vanessa said: "Here, here," as Cherry thanked them for their advice.

Viewers also had an opinion on the situation and took to Twitter to comment.

"#thismorning #vanessa Cherry get off of the call and dump the horrible man you're seeing, life is too short to waste on someone like that," another tweeted.

A third person added: "Cherry you've answered your own question bin him #thismorning."

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITV Hub.
