Alison Hammond leaves This Morning caller in tears with relationship advice

Alison Hammond reduced a caller, seeking answers on how her boyfriend treats her, to tears on This Morning when she gave her some heartfelt advice during an emotional phone-in.

Alison has been at the helm of the ITV show all week alongside Dermot O'Leary and, after some drama early on when Dermot had to intervene to correct guest Nicola Thorp over her comment about the Queen having Covid, the hosting pair took calls from viewers.

The title of the phone-in was 'Am I unreasonable,' and, as Alison and Dermot were joined via video by Vanessa Feltz, they took a call from a viewer named Cherry who told them she wanted to spend more time with her other half, but he kept making excuses.

She began: "We've been together for just over a year now and every time I say about meeting up, going cinema or bowling or something, he always says, 'yeah yeah we'll do it', but nothing comes of it."

Cherry then added: "And when he does come over we just end up doing one thing and then he leaves," with her remark leaving Vanessa visibly shocked on camera.

Addressing Cherry directly, Vanessa said: "As far as I can see it's not that you just want to spend time with him, what you want is an actual relationship where sex is part of it.

"It seems to me that he is treating you as a booty call and you know that and you don't like it and I don't think it's unreasonable not to like it."

After hearing from Cherry that had beyond had blocked her from contacting him after a recent row and that "she didn't want to treated like that," former Big Brother star Alison had some advice for her.

She told Cherry: "Oh Cherry I want to empower you now and just say to you babes, there's someone out there who's just gonna love you to bits, wanna take you out for meals and treat you the way you deserve to be treated."

On hearing Alison's wise words, Cherry could be heard crying as Vanessa attempted to reassure her.

Listening to the phone-in, one viewer tweeted: "Cherry get off of the call and dump the horrible man you're seeing, life is too short to waste on someone like that."

Giving the same advice, another wrote: "Get rid Cherry," with a third reacting: "Cherry you've answered your own question bin him"
